Prof. Aleko Miho

Chairman

Aleko is member of the academic staff in Department of Biology, FNS, UT. Teaching activity deals with General Botany, Environmental Bio-monitoring, Writing a Research Paper, Best Management Practices in Plant Conservation. His main research field is taxonomy and ecology of microscopic algae of Albanian natural brackish and freshwaters, and also nature biomonitoring and conservation. He has a long experience on the conservation of natural ecosystems. Supporter of Albanian environmental movement since 1991; promotor of the establishment of protected areas in Ohrid & Prespa. Actually is chairman of EcoAlbania, supporting the “Save the Blue Heart of Europe” Campaign.

MSc. Olsi Nika

Executive Director

Olsi is an environmental biologist and an expert on the biological assessment of water quality. He has participated in different projects related to biological environmental monitoring. His main research interests are on microalgae, aquatic ecology and marine ecosystems conservation. Since 2013 engaged in the implementation of the “Save the Blue Heart of Europe” Campaign.

2012: Master of Science in Environmental Biology, Faculty of Natural Sciences.

2014 and on: PhD student in Conservation Biology, Faculty of Natural Sciences.

Scientific Board member

Lulëzim is staff member of Department of Biology, FNS, UT. Teaching activity deals with Plant Physiology and Plant Ecophysiology. His main research fields are: taxonomy and ecology of higher plants, hence the nature conservation in Albania. He is author/coauthor of 2 textbooks and one monograph, more than 25 scientific papers and 20 contributions in scientific events. Luëzim has contributed as consultant or working group member in several projects, and long experience in environmental NGOs. Actually he is Scientific Board member of EcoAlbania, supporting the “Save the Blue Heart of Europe” Campaign.

KASHTA-Lefteri_1Prof. Lefter Kashta

Scientific Board member

Lefter is member of the research staff in National Herbarium, Research Center for Flora and Fauna, FNS, UT. Teaching activity mainly in Systematic Botany and Algology. His scientific activity is focused mainly on marine flora, and also distribution and ecology of aquatic plants, as well as, rare and threatened species. He is author/coauthor of 8 textbooks and monographs and about 40 scientific papers and has contributed as consultant or working group member in several projects. Actually he is Scientific Board member of EcoAlbania, supporting the “Save the Blue Heart of Europe” Campaign.

Dr. Jani Marka

Scientific Board member

Jani is staff member of Department of Biology, FNS, UT. Teaching activity deals with General Botany FNS, UT, and in Pharmacy, Medicine University of Tirana. His main research field is taxonomy and ecology of Albanian mosses (Bryophyte). Jani is active in projects dealing with environmental education and environmental protection. Actually he is Scientific Board member of EcoAlbania, supporting the “Save the Blue Heart of Europe” Campaign.

MSc. Besjana Guri

Communication Officer.

Besjana is a social worker with experience in working with community and individuals.  Her research interests are on social implications in environment protection and eco-communication strategy development. Since 2014 engaged in the implementation of the “Save the Blue Heart of Europe” Campaign.

Ita-angoni-ecoalbania-2017

Msc. Ita Angoni

Project coordinator

Ita is an environmental biologist, an expert in honey plants and quality control of honey. She is active in projects regarding environmental protection, conservation and energy efficiency.
